Sacramento now has seven players in the NBA’s COVID-19 Health & Safety protocols
Another member of the Sacramento Kings has entered COVID-19 Health & Safety protocols, with rookie center Neemias Queta becoming the seventh member of the team to enter protocols this week.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the 22-year-old has entered the league’s protocols and will need to register successive negative tests 24 hours apart in order to return to basketball activities.
Queta joins De’Aaron Fox, Alex Len, Louis King, Davion Mitchell, Marvin Bagley III, Terence Davis and head coach Alvin Gentry in the league’s protocols.
Starting center Richaun Holmes has missed the past seven games due to a right eye laceration and is questionable for Wednesday night’s matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, meaning that Sacramento could be very shallow at the center position when they take the floor.
As of 11am PST on Tuesday, the Kings have just two centers on their roster that are active–Tristan Thompson and Damian Jones.
Queta, the first Portuguese player to appear in an NBA game, made his debut on Friday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, pulling down five rebounds and blocking a shot over just seven minutes of action.
