The Las Vegas Raiders have signed tight end Zach Gentry to their active roster.
A fifth-round draft pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the 27-year-old tight end started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In 40 games, he’s caught 39 receptions for 303 yards and zero touchdowns.
Gentry has been a member of the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad this season.
The Raiders are adding depth to an injured tight squad. Rookie Michael Mayer did not play in Monday’s win over the Chiefs. He also did not participate in Wednesday’s practice, out with a toe injury. Tight end Jesper Horsted was also listed as out for Wednesday’s practice. If both Mayer and Horsted aren’t able to go against the Colts, Gentry could see action alongside Austin Hooper.
