Tuesday was a busy day at Las Vegas Raiders training camp.
The first day with pads on came with some potentially unfortunate news. According to Vincent Bonsignore, Raiders reporter for the Las Vegas Review Journal, linebacker Brandon Facyson was carted off the field with an apparent leg injury. The team has not released any information about Facyson’s condition.
Las Vegas signed Facyson this past offseason, rejoining the team after spending the last season with the Indianapolis Colts. In his first stint with the Raiders in 2021, the 28-year-old cornerback started nine games, recording 55 tackles and 13 passes defended.
“When I came here, I was welcomed with open arms and I just wanted to just compete every day and show these guys that they could trust me, and I think I did that in 2021,” Facyson told the media on Monday. “But coming into the next couple of seasons it definitely helped my confidence, so just really honing in on my craft and learning from the guys on the offensive side, learning from my new coaches and stuff like that. I’m learning new things and learning techniques, being a student of the game.”

Additional Raiders training camp notes
With star running back Josh Jacobs still sitting out of camp as a result of a contract dispute, the Raiders have brought in some veterans to check out.
According to multiple reports, Rex Burkhead and Damien Williams were brought in Tuesday for workouts.
Both Burkhead and Raiders coach Josh McDaniels were members of the New England Patriots from 2017-2020. During that time, Burkhead rushed for 1,026 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also recorded just under 900 receiving yards during that time.
