O.J. Howard’s time with the Las Vegas Raiders ended before it ever got a chance to begin.
According to Vincent Bonsignore, Raiders reporter for the Las Vegas Review Journal, the team released the veteran tight end a week into training camp.
The team also announced they’ve re-signed quarterback Chase Garbers, who was waived on July 25.

The Raiders signed O.J. Howard after they traded Darren Waller to the New York Giants.
Howard was selected in the first round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2017 NFL Draft. In five years with the Bucs, Howard recorded 119 receptions for 1,737 yards and 15 touchdowns. Last season with the Houston Texans, he recorded 10 receptions for 145 yards and only two touchdowns.
During the offseason, the Raiders also signed Austin Hooper. Then, in this year’s NFL Draft, selected Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame.
