Could another member of Kyle Shanahan’s coaching tree be plucked from San Francisco?
According to New Orleans Saints reporter Nick Underhill, quarterbacks coach Brian Griese and passing game coordinator Klint Kubiak have interviewed for the offensive coordinator role.
Before the Saints fired Pete Carmichael Jr. earlier this year, he held the title of the longest-tenured offensive coordinator in the NFL, joining New Orleans in 2009.

A former broadcaster and NFL quarterback, Brian Griese joined the 49ers organization in 2022.
Kubiak is in his first year with the 49ers organization. He previously was on the coaching staff with the Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings.
Griese and Kubiak join 49ers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks as 49ers coaches to interview for open positions. Wilks, also in his first year with the 49ers, has interviewed for the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons head coaching position.
