Antonio Pierce is adding some experience to his coaching staff.
According to multiple reports, the Las Vegas Raiders are adding former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis as an assistant coach. The team has not yet announced the move.
One day earlier, it was reported that the Raiders added Kliff Kingsbury as the team’s new offensive coordinator.

While Pierce ended his tenure as interim coach with a winning record, he’s still going into his first full season as the Raiders coach with minimal experience. By adding Lewis, Pierce adds someone he can turn to who’s been on the sidelines for years.
During his time with the Bengals, Marvin Lewis amassed a 131-122-3 record. He was named the AP Coach of the Year in 2009 and led Cincinnati to the postseason seven times. Prior to Lewis’ time in Cincinnati, the Bengals had only reached the postseason seven time in their first 45 season.
Pierce and Lewis also spent time together at Arizona State, where they were co-defensive coordinators in 2020.
