Less than two weeks after signing him, the Sacramento Kinga are reportedly waiving guard Jeremy Lamb.

The news was first reported by Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee.

Lamb was originally traded to the Kings as part of the swap that landed All-Star center Domantas Sabonis in exchange for Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. The guard played just seven minutes in the club’s preseason debut in Vancouver against the Toronto Raptors. Part of the fourth unit, he played alongside Jordan Ford, Jaylen Nowell, Deonte Burton, and rookie Jalen Slawson.

According to Anderson’s report, the organization hopes he will join their G-League roster in Stockton.

New Stockton head coach Lindsey Harding already has two-way players Ford, Slawson, and Keon Ellis on her roster, along with Baylor guard James Akinjo. If Lamb clears waivers, he would strengthen Stockton’s roster and have an opportunity to show his abilities after taking a year off from professional basketball. However, other teams could claim him at any point.

After waiving Lamb, the Sacramento Kings roster is down to 20 players, with a few decisions left to make down the line. Teams can only bring up to 18 players into the regular season, leaving three cuts to be made. The final spot could come down to one of Nowell, Burton, or Chance Comanche. It’s worth noting that Comanche was the only player not to see the floor in their preseason debut.
