Summer League basketball is returning to Golden 1 Center this summer.

The Sacramento Kings announced on Wednesday that the sixth annual California Classic will take place on July 6-7th and 9th at Golden 1 Center and in San Francisco at Chase Center on July 6-7th and 10th, home of the Golden State Warriors.

After being held solely in Sacramento for four years and in San Francisco in 2022, the Northern California rivals will share the Classic in 2024 to showcase young NBA talent from other teams around the league.

More on the California Classic

The sixth annual California Classic Summer League will feature three days of game play at Golden 1 Center presented by Ticketmaster on July 6, 7 and 9 with the Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs and Charlotte Hornets and Chase Center on July 6, 7 and 10 with the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat.

The Summer League will include a total of twelve games featuring rookies selected in the 2024 NBA Draft, sophomores and athletes competing to make NBA and G League regular season rosters.

The event will culminate in a final Northern California battle featuring the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on July 10. Similar to other Summer League matches, modified game play rules will be in place, including 10-minute quarters. In addition, the three days will include exciting family friendly entertainment.

The Kings, who will likely own the 13th pick in June’s NBA Draft, will put some of their up-and-coming talent on display during the upcoming Summer League.

Franchise legend Doug Christie is expected to lead the Summer Leage team as head coach, while 2023 draft pick Colby Jones and–if they keep this year’s pick–a 2024 first-round selection will take the floor at Golden 1 Center.

General public will be able to purchase passes on Friday, May 10 at Kings.com/CAClassic for Sacramento and Warriors.com for San Francisco.

When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?

For the first time in two years, the Sacramento Kings will be crossing its fingers for luck during the upcoming NBA Draft Lottery.

The 2024 NBA Draft Lottery will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in Chicago, where Sacramento will have the 13th-best odds of securing the top pick.

How the Lottery works: The 14 teams that missed out on the NBA playoffs are eligible for the Draft Lottery. The final odds were determined after the regular season, and tie breaks were settled between teams with identical regular season records.
