The New Orleans Saints are in agreement with San Francisco 49ers passing game specialist Klint Kubiak to be their offensive coordinator, NFL Network reported Monday.
It was first reported 10 days ago that the Saints were targeting Kubiak but no deal could be done until after the Super Bowl. Kubiak’s Niners lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 25-22 in overtime on Sunday.
Kubiak previously served as an offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021 before becoming a quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator with the Denver Broncos in 2022. He also was an offensive quality control coach in his first stint with the Vikings (2013-14) and offensive assistant in his first go-round with the Broncos (2016-18).
This was going to happen whether the #49ers won or loss yesterday.

The Saints fired longtime offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael on Jan. 16 after 18 seasons with the team.
New Orleans (9-8) finished 14th in total offense (337.2 average yards per game) and 21st in rushing offense (102.5) in 2023, missing out on the playoffs in a tiebreaker with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC South Division title.
Klint Kubiak will turn 37 on Feb. 17.
