Rookie safety Ji’Ayir Brown is one of 10 players listed by the 49ers as either out or questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Already confirmed out are Arik Armstead (foot and knee), Jauan Jennings (concussion), Ji’Ayir Brown (knee), Jaylon Moore (concussion), and Ross Dwelley (ankle). Listed as questionable include: Aaron Banks (toe), Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (illness), Danny Gray (shoulder), Jordan Mason (illness), and Ambry Thomas (knee and hand).
Talking to reporters Friday, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan expressed optimism that Brown could return in Week 18 against the Los Angeles Rams.
“He [Brown] was fine to go this week, so that means he has a chance next week,” Shanahan said.
The coach went on to add that Jennings has had some positive days while in the concussion protocol and he’s “going in the right direction.”

A positive from Friday’s injury report was the absence of left tackle Trent Williams, who briefly sat out of Monday’s win with a groin injury. He was limited in practice this week with no injury designation heading into Sunday.
At least the #49ers will have Trent Williams (groin), who carries no injury designation for Sunday. https://t.co/wgMaooEXlM
