The San Francisco Giants will be without one of its offseason additions for at least the next week.
Designated hitter Jorge Soler has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right shoulder strain before San Francisco’s game against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night. To take Soler’s place on the active roster, outfielder Heliot Ramos has been recalled from AAA Sacramento.
Soler, 32, has struggled in his brief Giants tenure, batting .202 with five home runs, eight RBI, and 14 runs scored over 34 appearances.

The veteran slugger has been sidelined since May 5th, meaning he will be eligible to return from the injured list on May 15th.
With Soler out of action, San Francisco called up Ramos from AAA Sacramento, where he held a .296 batting average and .565 slugging percentage over 30 games to go along with eight home runs and 21 RBI.
Ramos, 24, could be in line for an extended look after brief stints at the big-league level in 2022 (nine games) and 2023 (25 games).
