The injury bug continues to bite the San Francisco Giants.
Before facing the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday, San Francisco placed recently acquired outfielder AJ Pollock on the 10-day injured list due to a left oblique strain.
Giants manager Gabe Kapler shared that Pollock is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks with a Grade-1-plus oblique strain.
To take Pollock’s place on the active roster, San Francisco has called up prospect Heliot Ramos for added outfield depth.

It didn’t take long for Pollock, the Giants’ lone trade deadline acquisition, to be shelved with an injury after the 35-year-old suffered the injury during Tuesday’s loss in Los Angeles.
Pollock, an All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner in 2015, was expected to add outfield depth to a San Francisco team currently weathering the absences of Mike Yastrzemski (hamstring) and Mitch Haniger (forearm fracture).
To fill Pollock’s spot on the roster, rookie outfielder Heliot Ramos is back in the big leagues following a recent hot stretch of play at the AAA level.
Over 45 appearances with the Sacramento River Cats this season, Ramos is batting .303 with eight home runs and 35 RBI while posting a .359 on-base percentage during 162 at-bats.
At just 23 years old, Ramos will join a Giants roster that is currently receiving contributions from fellow rookies Luis Matos and Patrick Bailey.
