Reinforcements have arrived for the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants announced on Tuesday that infielder Thairo Estrada and designated hitter Joc Pederson have been activated from the 10-day injured list for the start of a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
Both players are in the lineup for Tuesday’s game, with Estrada batting second and Pederson batting second against Rockies starter Dinelson Lamet.
To make room for Estrada and Pederson on the 26-man roster, San Francisco optioned outfielder Bryce Johnson and infielder Brett Wisley to AAA Sacramento.

Estrada was the Giants’ hottest hitter before being placed on the injured list due to a left wrist sprain, and now San Francisco will be able to pair the 27-year-old with impressive rookie infielder Casey Schmitt (.295 batting average).
Over 47 games this season, Estrada is hitting a team-best .301 to go along with six home runs, 17 RBI, and 13 stolen bases.
Pederson (hand contusion) was placed on the injured list on May 15th after being hit on the right hand by a pitch from Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Scott McGough during the Giants’ 7-5 loss on May 12th.
After missing the past three weeks of action, Pederson spent the weekend rehabbing with San Francisco’s Single-A affiliate in San Jose.
Now that the Giants have Estrada and Pederson back in the fold, an offense that has scored 14 runs over the past five games while batting .236 will get a boost from to big pieces of the lineup.
