DAVIS, Calif. — UC Davis intercollegiate athletics and its multimedia rightsholder, LEARFIELD, announced a three (3) year extended agreement with the Sacramento AM radio station Sports 1140 KHTK, the department’s long-time broadcast partner.

Sports 1140 KHTK will continue to carry live coverage of all UC Davis football and men’s basketball games. Scott Marsh, who has served as the Aggies’ primary play-by-play broadcaster for both sports since 2007, will resume both roles. He is joined in the football broadcast booth by analyst Doug Kelly, who has served on the announcing crew since the mid-1990s. During UC Davis home football games, Greg Wong will handle play-by-play duties alongside Kelly while Marsh moves over to the ESPN+ booth to call the live-streamed telecasts on that platform.

“We are excited to continue our valuable partnership with Sports 1140 KHTK,” said UC Davis Director of Athletics Rocko DeLuca. “The opportunity to present top-quality broadcasts in the Sacramento area not only expands our brand, but more importantly, it celebrates the achievements of our outstanding student-athletes.”

The new agreement will also feature a quarterly, one-hour radio show featuring Aggie head coaches and student-athletes. Dates and times for those broadcasts are yet to be determined.

“We are beyond excited for UC Davis to renew its broadcast agreement with Bonneville and Sports 1140 KHTK. Aggie athletics has long been synonymous with excellence, on and off the competition courts and fields, while Sports 1140 KHTK has stood as an industry leader for more than a quarter century,” said Andy Fiske, general manager for LEARFIELD’s UC Davis Sports Properties. “We’re proud to facilitate a relationship that best serves the high repute of both parties.”

Owned by Bonneville International, Sports 1140 KHTK has served as the radio home of UC Davis football since soon after its format change to sports talk in 1994. In 2018, the agreement expanded to include live coverage of men’s basketball. Bonneville operates radio and TV stations in six U.S. markets: San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Sacramento.

“We’re excited to renew our long-standing relationship with the Aggies and look forward to continuing a great partnership,” said Steve Cottingim, Sr. Vice President and Market Manager of Bonneville Sacramento, which manages Sports 1140 KHTK

The UC Davis football season begins with a road game at the University of Tulsa on September 2. The Aggie men’s basketball season tips off at Utah State University on November 9. Tickets and more information is available at ucdavisaggies.com.
