Sacramento Republic F.C. will host Seattle Sounders in U.S. Open Cup Semifinals on July 9th

The Sacramento Republic have their date and time set for the next round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Sacramento Republic F.C. will host their Open Cup semifinals showdown against the Seattle Sounders on Tuesday, July 9th at 8 p.m. PST. The match will take place at Heart Health Park, with an expected sellout to be on hands that evening.

SRFC won the draw to host the semifinal match last week, with time and date being officially announced Wednesday by the club.

Tickets for the Open Cup match become available to the general public at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 6th. Republic FC season ticket holders will have first crack to secure seats, beginning today and ending Wednesday, June 5th. Groups of more than 10 people will also be allowed to purchase their seats before the general public.

The match will also be streamed live for free on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, marking the first time Sacramento Republic have featured on that platform.

Sacramento Republic F.C. advanced to the competition’s semifinal after a dramatic 4-3 win over San Jose Earthquakes in the Quarterfinals. Down 3-2 entering the final 15 minutes of extra time, goals by Republic’s Luis Felipe and Sebastian Herrera snatched the victory away from the visitors, sending HHP into a frenzy.

While Seattle represents an even bigger challenge, the Quails have been indomitable on their home field. Sacramento holds a record of 19-1 in Open Cup play at home, hoping to turn Cal Expo into a fortress once more on July 9th.
