The Sacramento Kings like to kick off their return to basketball in big fashion.
In the past, Wale and Montell Jordan have helped welcome fans back to the Golden 1 Center. This year, it’s the Ying Yang Twins.
The hip-hop duo is set to perform at halftime as the Kings take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Prior to their halftime performance, the Ying Yang Twins are also expected to meet with ” local youth and mentors” in the Kings’ pregame Studio Session.
“We are thrilled to welcome fans back to Golden 1 Center to tip-off the regular season of Kings basketball following an eventful off-season and successful Summer League,” John Rinehart, Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations, said in a press release. “The game will feature a variety of new and engaging entertainment aspects including celebrity appearances, a performance by and mentoring session with the Ying Yang Twins and an exciting After Party in our Sierra Nevada Draught House.”
Opening night will also see the return of former Kings’ Brad Miller and Metta World Peace. The two will sign autographs before the game then “ring the cowbell before tip-off for the first time this season.” Every fan in attendance will also receive a free “Roar With Us” t-shirt.
