It’s barely 2024 and the 49ers already have their opponents for the upcoming season.

The San Francisco 49ers’ 2024 opponents list has been finalized after the conclusion of Week 18. SF will have nine home games in 2024, and only eight contests on the road. However, seven of the 11 non-divisional games will be against current NFL playoff teams.

The 49ers will be hosting the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys. Those franchises have a combined 76-77 record in 2023.

The Red & Gold will be visiting the Cardinals, Rams and Seahawks as well. Additionally, the 49ers will travel to Green Bay, Minnesota, Miami, Buffalo and Tampa Bay next season. Those franchises have a 70-66 record this season.

The 49ers have seen most of these teams this season, going 7-2 against the slate. But with major changes coming across the NFL, anything can happen in a new season.

San Francisco’s tastiest matchups at home in 2024 include the Cowboys, Lions and Chiefs. SF has been the victors over Dallas in recent fixtures, last winning Week 5, 42-10. The 49ers haven’t seen the other two in 2023, but hav struggled against quarterback Patrick Mahomes and KC in recent years.

On the road slate, game against the Dolphins, Bills and Packers apparently the most enticing. The Red & Gold last beat Miami in 2022, when QB Brock Purdy came in for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo. 49ers-Packers has also yielded fun matchups in recent time, including a 13-10 playoff win at Lambeau Field for SF.

The exact 2024 NFL schedule will be released in the coming months.

Upcoming schedule for the San Francisco 49ers

  • Sunday, Jan. 7th vs. Los Angeles Rams – 1:25 PM PST
  • January 13-14 – NFL Playoffs (Wild Card Round) – BYE
  • January 20-21 – NFC Divisional Round
