At long last, the 49ers seem to be getting one of their mainstays on the defensive interior back, with Javon Hargrave making an appearance at practice Friday.
The San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle returned to the practice field Friday, more than a week after from team drills entirely. Hargrave has been dealing with a hamstring injury suffered Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks. He got hurt in the third quarter of the contest and was unable to return.
Now almost two weeks later, he rejoins the 49ers on the practice field.

Javon Hargrave, 30, has had a productive first season with the Red & Gold. He has recorded 40 combined tackles, 13 quarterback hits and six sacks in 13 games this season. The South Carolina State alum also has a 77.9 Pro Football Focus grade for 2023.
He joined the 49ers on a four-year, $80 million deal in the offseason, forming one of the best defensive line tandems in the NFL with DL Arik Armstead. The pair have accumulated 11 total sacks on the season thus far.
Unfortunately, injuries have hampered them as of late, with the latter still unable to see the field after missing the last two contests. Armstead is dealing nagging foot and ankle injuries, aggravated in Week 13’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Joining him off the practice field Friday is linebacker Oren Burks (knee) and wide receiver Jauan Jennings (concussion). Additionally, running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) and defensive end Clelin Ferrell (ankle) returned to practice Friday.
Because of the defensive line woes, the 49ers have signed DT Taylor Stallworth to the practice squad Thursday.
