Jason Aponte, 49ers beat writer for Niners Nation, joined Sactown Sports to discuss what he’s seen in training camp so far, preview the 49ers’ upcoming preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, and more.
The 49ers organization is looking to finally win the big game and bring the Lombardi trophy back to Santa Clara. Over the past five seasons, San Francisco has been to the NFC Conference Championship three times and Super Bowl once.
“I think that a lot of people just forget that it’s very hard to win Super Bowls,” Aponte said. “It took a lot of very good, Hall of Fame coaches a long time to win Super Bowls… But I think you should be proud, that this team, every single year, is the team that people are saying ‘man, they’re the most complete and if they ever got a quarterback, watch out.'”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Who are the teams behind the Eagles and 49ers?
- Has Oren Burks done enough to secure the outside linebacker role?
- Why the Nick Bosa training camp holdout is not a big deal
- Who is the 49ers fourth wide receiver?
- General Manager John Lynch and Coach Kyle Shanahan built a solid team with consistent contributors
- Do either Jordan Mason or Tyrion Davis-Price get cut after training camp?
