The San Francisco 49ers are riding high after 14 weeks but will have to start this week without several key starters.
Kyle Shanahan announced Wednesday that both defensive tackles Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave will not practice to start the week. Linebackers Dre Greenlaw and Oren Burks are joining them off the field, as well as cornerback Charvarius Ward.
Additionally, starting right guard Spencer Burford will not practice Wednesday. Tight end Ross Dwelley joins Burford for offensive absences.
In total, seven players will miss practice Wednesday, with many of them likely to rest until the weekend.

Armstead has been dealing with foot and knee issues for the past few weeks, unable to go against the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday. Meanwhile, Greenlaw, Hargrave and Ward suffered injuries during Week 14, with only the LB able to return to the contest.
While the 49ers are taking a cautious approach to the rest of the regular season, the injury report is starting to pile up late in the year. San Francisco may look to rest several starters this weekend, taking on the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15.
On the flip side, the Red & Gold will get running back Elijah Mitchell back Wednesday, expected to be limited at practice. The ball carrier has dealt with knee injuries for the past two seasons, suffering multiple MCL sprains in 2022.
Additionally, rookie CB Darrell Luther Jr. will practice in full on Wednesday. He has been dealing with a knee ailment all year.

- Sunday, Dec. 31st @ Washington Commanders – 10:00 a.m. PST
