Athletics third baseman/left fielder Miguel Andujar sustained right oblique discomfort in Sunday’s game and likely will be placed on the injured list, manager Mark Kotsay said after the 8-4 loss to the host Toronto Blue Jays.
The team said Andujar, 30, was hurt while taking a swing and will have an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Andujar exited in the bottom of the fifth inning and was replaced at third base by Max Schuemann. Andujar has gotten on base on a fielder’s choice in the top of the fifth and later scored on Luis Urias’ double.
