San Francisco Giants Extend Qualifying Offers To Rodón, Pederson

The San Francisco Giants have extended qualifying offers to outfielder Joc Pederson and pitcher Carlos Rodón.

For those unfamiliar, a qualifying offer is extended to players who “spent the entire 2022 season with the same team before hitting free agency when the World Series concluded and have not previously gotten a qualifying offer.” A qualifying offer for the 2023 season is worth $19.65 million deal if the players accept.

Joc Pederson led the team in home runs with 23 last season, also notching a .874 OPS and his second All-Star selection.

Carlos Rodón recently became a free agent when he declined his player option to return to San Francisco. The left-handed pitcher is expected to be courted hard in free agency after recording a 14-8 record last season on a 2.88 ERA.

If Rodón signs with another team, the Giants will be rewarded a draft pick.

They have until Sunday, Nov. 20, to accept or reject the offer.
