Brent Rooker on his career path to becoming an MLB All-Star

Athletics designated hitter Brent Rooker joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross to discuss his path from being designated for assignment to becoming an All-Star, share his first impressions of living in Sacramento, answer if he’s superstitious or not, and much more.

Additionally, Rooker identifies the best golfers on the Athletics team and determines who would make the best foursome for a round.

Preview vs. Kansas City

The Athletics’ Brent Rooker, who is 1-for-3 with a double against Wacha, and 8-for-20 with a homer and seven RBIs in his past five games versus Kansas City.

Rooker was 2-for-16 in his previous four games before going 4-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs against the Angels on Wednesday. He has reached base safely in 18 of his past 20 contests and is batting .424 with three home runs and nine RBIs in his past eight road contests.

“Rook’s an All-Star,” A’s manager Mark Kotsay said. “He’s having a great season. … He’s someone who can both drive the baseball out of the yard and get his hits.”
