Athletics continue roster cuts as Opening Day nears

As the 2026 season inches closer and Opening Day moves within two weeks away, the Athletics made a series of roster moves.

The roster picture in camp is starting to come into focus for the Athletics as it prepares for its second season in Sacramento.

As the calendar inches closer to Opening Day, the club made another round of roster moves Sunday, trimming down the number of players still competing in big league camp.

The Athletics reassigned several pitchers and position players to minor league camp as they continue shaping the roster for the start of the 2026 season.

The A’s reassigned left-handed pitchers Gage Jump and Matt Krook; right-handed pitchers Nick Hernandez, Brooks Kriske and Wander Suero; catcher Chad Wallach; infielders Leo De Vries, Michael Stefanic and Tommy White; and outfielders Henry Bolte and Cade Marlowe to their minor league camp, the club announced today.

The A’s now have 34 players in camp, which includes 31 players on the 40-man roster and three non-roster invitees. The breakdown includes 18 pitchers, three catchers, seven infielders and six outfielders.
