The Athletics continue to deal with a lengthy list of injuries as the club enters the final stretch of a disappointing 2026 season.
Currently 47-72 and well outside the postseason picture, the Athletics are on track to miss the playoffs for a sixth consecutive season. They have also struggled badly since the calendar flipped to July, going just 7-26 over that span.
Several players remain on the injured list, with some making progress toward potential returns while others have already been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Outfielder Denzel Clarke, who is on the 60-day injured list with a left hamstring strain, continues to make progress. Clarke is working through running, throwing and hitting progressions in Arizona this week.
Right-hander Brooks Kriske also took another step forward Tuesday, throwing his second live batting practice session in Arizona as he works his way back from a right shoulder impingement.
Right-hander Luis Severino continues a throwing progression while recovering from a right shoulder strain.
There are also several players whose seasons are over. Right-hander Gunnar Hoglund underwent successful left hip surgery on May 19 in Vail, Colorado, and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season. Right-hander Mark Leiter Jr. underwent surgery on July 28 to repair a right hip labral tear and is also out for the rest of the year.
Outfielder Brent Rooker is another player done for the season after undergoing successful surgery July 17 to debride an articular cartilage tear in his left knee and remove loose bodies.

Infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer is also inactive after undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured testicle on July 20 in Arizona.
Right-hander Justin Sterner will see a knee specialist at Stanford this week after experiencing increased soreness while throwing. Left-hander Jeffrey Springs, meanwhile, is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday while dealing with right hip discomfort.
