It was a roller-coaster of 24 hours for the Sacramento Kings as the Beam Team lost a game to the lowly Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday before defeating the Orlando Magic in double-overtime on Wednesday in a thriller at Golden 1 Center.
The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Thursday morning to share his thoughts on Sacramento’s inconsistencies and what he–and others around the league–expect the Kings to do this coming trade season.
Plus: Sam shares his thoughts on the report that trouble is brewing in Los Angeles with head coach Darvin Ham now apparently on the hot-seat.
Topics Discussed
- The Kings suffer their worst loss of the season against Charlotte on Tuesday before turning around and beating the Magic on Wednesday
- What does Sam see when it comes to Sacramento’s inconsistency?
- “I think my new stance on the Kings is that fans should adopt the same mentality they had last year… Just enjoy every W.”
- Amick says Sacramento is still in a good spot, even amid inconsistencies
- Does the Kings’ front office feel pressured to make a move? Sam thinks so.
- “Around the league, it does feel like people are wondering what the Kings will do, not if they will do something.”
- Sam says he doesn’t believe Sacramento will move any players that “move the needle” for other teams.
- Amick would be surprised if the Toronto Raptors don’t move Pascal Siakam
- Who else could be on the move before February 8th’s NBA trade deadline?
- Sam dives into the latest reports surrounding Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham
- Amick thinks Doc Rivers is a name to watch if the Lakers move on from Ham
