Anthony Slater, Warriors and NBA reporter for The Athletic, joined The Drive Guys Thursday ahead of Golden State’s matchup with the Kings.

With two weeks until the NBA trade deadline, rumors are circling many teams and players. Earlier this year, The Athletic’s Tim Kawakami reported the Warriors would be willing to explore the trade market for Andrew Wiggins. Is there a possibility the Warriors forward could reunite with Mike Brown in Sacramento?

“I think Wiggins is available, but that’s a tricky deal to get done. I think the type of package the Kings seem to be dangling out there…is not something that would appeal to the Warriors,” Slater said, adding the 28-year-old forward could be a buy-low candidate because of how far his production has dipped.

During the 2022 NBA Finals, Andrew Wiggins averaged 18.3 points for the Warriors. However, he’s averaging just 11.9 points a game this season, his lowest in his career.

Additional topics discussed include:

  • The emotional ceremony for Dejan Milojevic on Wednesday night and the atmosphere in the Chase Center for the Warriors’ first game played since his passing
  • Golden State’s current rotation: who’s in and who’s out?
  • Will Sacramento be active at the trade deadline?
  • Why the big trade may be over already
  • Can Royce O’Neale and Dorian Finney-Smith fit into Mike Brown’s system?
  • The Kings and Warriors “are not in good spots” right now and both teams need a win
