The San Francisco Giants are sending Brandon Crawford back to the injured list.
Crawford was placed on the team’s 10-day injured reserve list with a hamstring strain, the team announced Thursday. The 36-year-old shortstop left Wednesday’s loss early in the third inning.
After the game, he told reporters he’s hopeful it’ll feel better in the next several days. Crawford is eligible to be reactivated on Sunday, Oct. 1, the last day of the regular season, and the team’s final home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Only appearing in 93 games this season, Crawford is batting a career-low .197 with a .595 OPS.

Questions have arisen if Wednesday was his last outing in a Giants’ uniform. An impending free agent, Brandon Crawford has spent all of his 13 major league seasons with the San Francisco Giants.
