According to multiple reports, Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones was arrested Friday.
Jones was arrested for allegedly violating a domestic violence temporary protective order, according to NFL reporter Andrew Groover.
The Last Vegas Raiders released a statement saying they “are hopeful that Chandler Jones receives the care that he needs. He, his family, and all those involved are in our thoughts. As this is now a legal matter, we will not be providing further comment.”
NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, a statement from the NFL, too. The league says it is monitoring the situation and “have been in constant communication with the Raiders.”
The Raiders placed Jones on the non-football illness list leading into Week 3. He is expected to be out indefinitely.
Chandler Jones has missed the Raiders’ first three games and has been away from the team since late August following multiple social media posts criticizing the organization. On Monday, he posted to social media claiming to have been hospitalized against his will. He also posted to social media several times on Thursday night.
On Friday, coach Josh McDaniels said he wants the best for all current and former players.
“I care for all of them. I think we all do. We want the best for all of our players, former players, etc. So, that will never change. That part is going to be there now and forever for all the guys we’ve coached and got an opportunity to know and work with. So, just kind of take it as it comes here as we’re going through this, and we continue to try to do the best we can. Like I said, there’s not much we can do other than that.”
