One of the perks of having the Kings and Warriors on national TV is getting immediate thoughts from big personalities. And Charles Barkley had some interesting opinions on the Golden State Warriors.
Before the Warriors lost to the Kings, the NBA of TNT panel was discussing Golden State’s early-season troubles. With Tuesday’s loss to the Kings, Golden State fell to 8-10 on the season.
While the Warriors do have some young players, its core of Stephen Curry (35), Klay Thompson (33), Draymond Green (33), and Chris Paul (38) have an average age of 34 years old.
“This team is cooked and they’re not a contender,” Barkley said, also pointing out that Thompson and Green are not the same players they once were. “[Andre] Wiggins has never been that guy. And then you factor in Steph has already been hurt this year… When you start getting hurt, and he’s been hurt the last couple years, that’s when you know age starts taking over.”
