Sacramento Kings center Chimezie Metu spoke to the media following Monday’s 136-111 blowout win over the Orlando Magic.
Metu, who had only logged minutes in two of Sacramento’s previous 10 games, was re-inserted into the rotation as the backup center on Monday night.
The 25-year-old scored 11 points on five-of-seven shooting and pulled down nine rebounds over 14 minutes of play. Metu was awarded the Defensive Player of the Game chain for his efforts on the glass after being selected to light the beam at center court following the win.
Following the game, Metu spoke to the media about how he feels now that he is back in the backup center role, what it meant to win the DPOG chain, and also cracked some jokes about lighting the beam.

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2022-23 season hoping to break a 16-year playoff drought. After hiring Mike Brown as the team’s new coach, the Kings drafted Keegan Murray as the number four overall pick. They continued to make moves over the summer, trading for Kevin Huerter and signing multiple free agents, including guard Malik Monk.
