Chris Biderman, the senior sports reporter for the Sacramento Bee, joined Cattles & Ramie Thursday to recap the Kings’ season, look ahead to the offseason, and more.
When looking toward the future, Biderman pointed to guard De’Aaron Fox’s growth, both on and off the court, to becoming an A1 guy for the team.
“I think he took a lot of steps toward becoming that guy this year,” Biderman said. “Improving on defense, being more of a tone setter for that team behind the scenes and culturally. I think De’Aaron really bought into what Mike Brown was selling him. And I think Mike Brown had a lot to do with it, given the credibility he has, this is a guy who coached Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant. So he knows what it looks like when players take those steps toward becoming elite and Brown has indicated that he thinks Fox could become elite.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- What makes him the most optimistic about this year’s momentum continuing next year
- If Domtanas Sabonis raised any questions within the organization because of his lackluster play against the Warriors
- Can Keegan Murray become a number two scorer next season?
- “Length and athleticism on the wing’ should be Kings’ top offseason priority
