Akis Yerocostas, editor-in-chief for the Kings Herald, joined Cattles and Ramie Wednesday to talk about Harrison Barnes’ contract, bringing over Sasha Vezenkov from Europe, Domantas Sabonis against the Warriors, and more.
When asked if he has any doubts about the Kings’ center following the team’s first-round loss to the Golden State Warriors, Yerocostas said he wasn’t worried.
“He was just such a big and important part of our team this whole year. It was clear from the first game that he was the primary gameplan for the Warriors to slow him down, slow our offense, they got rid of a lot of our dribble handoff options, which pretty much dominated our whole offense this season,” Yerocostas said. “I’m not worried. He went up against the champs. They had a great gameplan for him, but I think he’s going to come back better for it.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Should the team keep or move on from Harrison Barnes
- If Sasha Vezenkov is brought over, is he an automatic starter?
- Why there could be spots for both Vezenkov and Trey Lyles
- Where is Keegan Murray best suited, as a small or power forward?
- After the Golden State Warriors series, Domantas Sabonis is “going to come back better”
- Why Josh Hart is a dream free agent signing
- Not putting anything past general manager Monte McNair to make a big move
- Who the biggest trade chips are for the Sacramento Kings
- Did Davion Mitchell earn himself a bigger role next year after his performance in the postseason?
- The importance of hitting on late first-round draft picks
