The Sacramento Kings are 2-3 over the last five games, having faced teams like the Boston Celtics and Phoenix Suns, two of the best teams in the league.

On Thursday, Kings assistant coach Doug Christie joined Cattles & Ramie to discuss the team’s recent road trip and how the team could fare in the playoffs.

Topics discussed include:

  • The balance of offense and defense against the Indiana Pacers
  • Is De’Aaron going through a slow stretch of games or is there something ailing him?
  • If Wednesday’s game against the Pacers was the team’s best defensive game of the season
  • When the offense is clicking, the defense comes along a lot easier
  • Seeing Buddy Hield and Tyrese Haliburton in Sacramento and the emotions behind the return
  • How surprised he was by Malik Monk’s playmaking abilities
  • The Thanksgiving week road trip showed him that the Sacramento Kings can compete with the best teams in the NBA
  • Keegan Murray needs to stay aggressive and he’ll get back to early-season form
  • What Doug listens to on the way to the arena before games
