When Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow went down with an injury, the team turned to backup Jake Browning in hopes of keeping their playoff chances alive.
And while the chances are slim, the Folsom native is doing everything he can to keep those playoff hopes alive. On Monday night, Browning led the Bengals to a 34-31 overtime win over the Jaguars. Now, he’s being recognized for his performance.
On Wednesday, the NFL named Jake Browning the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Week. Against Jacksonville, he completed 32 of his 37 passes for 354 yards with one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown. He ended the day with a 115.5 passer rating.
