The San Francisco 49ers are one win away from punching their tickets to Super Bowl LVIII following Saturday’s NFC Divisional Round win over the Green Bay Packers.
Brock Purdy has had a storybook season for the 49ers, but the quarterback has been a target of the national media this week after showing struggles in rainy weather during the narrow win.
During Tuesday morning’s edition of The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross, former NFL quarterback Sean Salisbury joined the show to share his thoughts on the backlash towards Purdy, reflect on an eventful weekend of playoff football, and much more.
Topics Discussed
- Sean dives into the Houston Texans’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens
- “The better team won, and [the Ravens] built something special.”
- Can the Texans sustain this success going into next season?
- Why has the national media turned on Brock Purdy?
- “Plenty of them don’t watch tape… This is a story we should all root for.”
- Sean says there wouldn’t be as much criticism of Purdy if he were taller
- ‘What do you want him to be? 6’4, 220 [pounds]? Why are we punishing a guy for being on a good team?”
- How much does wet weather affect Purdy’s performance?
