Gary “G-Man” Gerould has been a Sacramento Kings broadcasting team member since 1985.

On Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, he called his 3,000th game for the organization.

“The response from people…I can’t wrap my head around it,” Gerould said, adding he was up until the wee hours of the morning responding to people’s congratulations. ” It’s unlike anything I have ever experienced nor will I experience again in my lifetime.”

The G-Man spoke with Carmichael Dave and Jason Ross Monday to talk about The G-Man calling that game, his career, and more.

Topics discussed include:

  • Being honored by the team after Sunday’s game with the Defensive Player of the Game chain

  • What would have happened if the Kings left Sacramento years ago?
  • Calling Friday night’s 176-175 win over the Los Angeles Clippers
  • Feeling like he did when he called the games for the early 2000s Kings’ team
  • “I’m the lucky one. I’m blessed I can still do what I get to do. And I love that opportunity and the people I work with and it’s just a marvelous time.”
