After falling to 11-17 on the heels of a four-game losing streak, the San Francisco Giants have turned things around since May 2nd.
The Giants have won four of their past five games, including two-straight series wins over the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers.
San Francisco claimed a three-game series from the Brewers over the weekend at Oracle Park, winning on Friday and Saturday before dropping Sunday’s series finale 7-3. Although the Giants’ winning streak ended, they have righted the ship and climbed back within five games of the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers.

Thairo Estrada remained red-hot over the weekend as the 27-year-old batted .385 with two home runs and four RBI during the three-game series. Estrada is now batting .347 on the season, which is third in all of Major League Baseball, while his 44 hits come in at fifth on the league leaderboards.
“Thairo’s an animal,” starting pitcher Alex Cobb said following Saturday’s 4-1 win. “When I got here last year I didn’t really know too many guys and everybody would just rave about him. He’s definitely the heart and soul of the lineup right now.”
Cobb complimented Estrada’s big day at the plate with a solid shut-out seven-inning performance that saw the right-hander strike out five Brewers as the Giants picked up a win on Willie Mays’ 92nd birthday.
San Francisco has an opportunity to keep its momentum moving forward against a Washington Nationals team that will enter play on Monday with a record of 14-20–last place in the National League East.
