It’s finally here 49ers Faithful: Eagles week. After much debate over who is the best team in the NFC, both sides will look to take control of the conference with a crucial matchup in Week 13.
The San Francisco 49ers travel to Pennsylvania this week to take on the Eagles in a rematch of the NFC Championship game in January. As most remember, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy suffered a torn UCL in the first quarter of the contest, rendering the Red & Gold without a viable option under center. SF crumbled because of it, losing 31-7 to end their 2022 campaign.
Now ten months later, both teams will line it up once more to prove who is the baddest squad in the NFC.
Both the 49ers and Eagles have taken care of business this season, currently No. 1 and No. 2 in the NFC playoff picture. The former is on a three-game win streak since their Bye Week, sitting last 8-3. While the latter hasn’t lost a contest since Week 5, sitting atop the NFL at 10-1 in 2023.
Historically, the 49ers have been victorious against the Eagles, holding an all-time record of 20-15-1 since 1951. Philly has been in control of the matchup in recent years however, winning eight of eleven clashes since 2005.
Despite being on the road, the Red & Gold are three-point favorites this weekend. That’s partially due to the injury concerns of the Eagles, already down most of their linebackers.
The 49ers aren’t taking the hobbled Eagles lightly though, expecting a tough clash in a hostile environment Sunday. Especially with QB Jalen Hurts under center, going a combined 24-2 over the last two seasons.

“Watching how accountable [coach Nick Sirianni] has his team, how hard they play, the style they play. I love the commitment to the run game that they do on offense. I think that’s one of the coolest things,” 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan Friday. “It’s not just that they’re committed to the run, but they know what they’re doing too. They know how to use the quarterback as a runner. They know how the adjustments defenses have to make. Then they know when they are making those adjustments, how to use them as a pass. So I’ve got a lot of respect for him, just schematically in what they’ve done there.”
What time does the regular-season game start?
Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PST on Sunday, Dec. 3rd, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
