Looking ahead to Week 8 of the NFL regular season, the 49ers are second in the NFC West, sitting at 3-4 after getting dominated but the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Now heading on their final road trip before their Week 9 bye, can the Red & Gold get back .500, or will they slip further down the rankings Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
This is the second time the 49ers and Rams have played each other this season, with San Francisco winning their last contest, 24-9. The Red & Gold are ahead of their divisional foes in the all-time series at 76-68-3, winning the last seven of eight games between the two.
Traveling to Southern California this time, the 49ers typically have The Faithful travel alongside them, creating a sea of red inside SoFi Stadium. Taking over an away stadium is one of biggest advantages San Francisco has, an attribute that doesn’t go unnoticed by the coaching staff.
“One of the coolest things I’ve seen in sports,” head coach Kyle Shanahan stated Wednesday. “Home field advantage is a big deal in the NFL because of crowd noise and you don’t have to worry about that as much on the road is huge. And when you actually can get the crowd noise, [it] doesn’t happen very much but it’s, it’s a big deal.”
What time does the Week 8 game start?
Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PST on Sunday, Oct. 30th, at SoFi in Inglewood, CA.
Where can I watch the game?
The game will air live on FOX. Kevin Burkhardt (play-by-play) and Greg Olsen (color analyst) will be on the call. Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi (sideline reporters) will join them.
