The 2022 NFL season ended with the Kansas City Chiefs. So it’s only fitting that the 2023 season starts with them, too.
Week 1 kicks off tonight with a special edition of Sunday Night Football on Thursday night. We know, it’s confusing, just move past it.
The defending Super Bowl champs welcome the Detroit Lions to Arrowhead Stadium. And the champs may start the season without their star tight end. On Tuesday, Travis Kelce hyperextended his knee during practice, putting his availability for Thursday night in jeopardy. According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the outlook of Kelce playing in the season opener “isn’t great.”
What time does the game start?
Kick-off between the Chiefs and Lions is set for 5:20 p.m. PST from Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
Where can I watch or listen?
Fans can watch the Chiefs and Lions locally on KCRA or any NBC station outside of the Sacramento region. The game is set to be called by Mike Tirico (play-by-play) and Cris Collinsworth (analyst).Ā If you’re on the road, tune in live with Sactown Sports 1140.
