On day two of Week 15 prep, the 49ers are still missing several key players, including Javon Hargrave.
The San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle was not present on the practice field Thursday, dealing with a hamstring injury. Instead, Hargrave was seen at the beginning of practice going through light workouts with a trainer on the side field. While the DT will likely need to make an appearance at practice Friday in order to play in Week 15, the 49ers have not ruled him out as of yet.
The same goes for following DT Arik Armstead, nowhere to be found Thursday. The Sacramento native missed Week 14 due to nagging lower-body injuries and appears set to miss another contest this week.
Meanwhile, cornerback Charvarius Ward will likely be logged as a non-participant as well. However, Ward was seen taking part in the team’s stretches and runs, looking spry on the field. He was without a helmet though, only watching his teammates go through drills during the media portion. The Tennessee native suffered a groin injury in Week 14 and could not play through it.
During early open portion of #49ers Thurs. practice:
DL Arik Armstead, TE Ross Dwelley, RB Elijah Mitchell, LB Dre Greenlaw, LB Oren Burks were not participating.
DT Javon Hargrave and CB Mooney Ward were working on the side.
G Spencer Burford and CB Ambry Thomas were back in.

Additionally, linebackers Dre Greenlaw (hip) and Oren Burks (knee), tight end Ross Dwelley (ankle) and running back Elijah Mitchell (knee) were all absent Thursday.
Left guard Aaron Banks was also off the field Thursday after logging practice the day prior. He was seen in the weight room, however, signaling a minor injury.
On the flip side, both right guard Spencer Burford and CB Ambry Thomas returned to practice. The former is dealing with a knee injury, while the latter took Wednesday off for a personal matter.
In total, the 49ers have five starters battling injuries at the moment, with the 49ers’ full extent of injury at its peak for the 2023 season.
