The San Francisco 49ers have been one of the most talked about NFL franchises in recent memory. So naturally, the fans want to see the Red & Gold on Hard Knocks at least once in the near future.

But as long as John Lynch is with the team, you can count on that never happening.

The 49ers general manager kaboshed the idea of his team appearing on the HBO docuseries any time soon, chuckling at the notion on KNBR Friday.

“Never. Never,” John Lynch said on Murph & Mac Friday. “[The NFL] tried to go down that road.”

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to many, with the 49ers preferring to keep all communication in-house for the last several years. And after an offseason full of controversy and drama, they probably have a point.

It’s not easy to say no to the NFL and its enterprises though. But how they do it is quite simple: Win games.

“The best way to take care of it, you get to the playoffs then you don’t have to worry about it. We plan on doing that every year,” Lynch stated.

To their credit, they have done that for the most part, making deep postseason runs three of the last four seasons. Now 1-0 to start the 2023 campaign, that shouldn’t be an issue once more for Lynch & Co.
