UPDATE: Jon Gruden says there’s a “good chance” he’ll become the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders if Mark Davis offers him the job.
Gruden also said there’s no truth to rumors that he’s been offered partial ownership of the team in a new interview.

With Jack Del Rio out, the Oakland Raiders have the task of hiring his replacement.
Jon Gruden has been associated with the job, and has spoken out about it with the Bay Area News Group.
Gruden said:
“My understanding is they’re interviewing candidates this week and they’re going to let everybody know sometime early next week or whenever they make their decision.”
He also admitted
“Well, I think I am being considered, yes. I hope I’m a candidate.”
Gruden was hired to coach the Raiders in 1998 and stayed with them through the 2001 season. Since then he’s served as an analyst and coach.
He was also the NFL’s youngest head coach at age 34.
