Week 1 is complete and now as we get ready for the second weekend of NFL action, we are gaining more knowledge on each team.

Before I get you my selections for this week, let’s look back at the Week 1 results.

Overall, I went just 9-7, and fell short in my upset, but I did get my lock of the week.

Lock of the week: (1-0 Rams in Week 1)

Browns over the Texans. Houston had a nice opening win of the season but it was Jacksonville. Cleveland did lose last week but played well against Kansas City. Look for the Browns to bounce back and even their record.

Upset of the week: (0-1 Colts in Week 1)

Vikings over the Cardinals. This one doesn’t make a lot of sense based on the first week of action. The Cardinals were terrific last week and the Vikings had a rough loss in Cincinnati. Playing a hunch here and going with the Vikings as my upset of the week.

Games I feel good about: (3-1 in Week 1)

Patriots over Jets. Bill Belicheck against a rookie quarterback is a recipe for disaster for the opposing team.

49ers over Eagles. The 49ers have stayed out East and should be able to take care of Philadelphia. The 49ers need to finish much better than they did with Detroit.

Broncos over Jaguars. I have been crazy high on Denver this season. They opened with a victory over the Giants in New York last week and should be able to hand rookie coach and QB combination that Jacksonville will throw out there.

Buccaneers over the Falcons. Tampa looked good in week 1 and Atlanta did not. Tom Brady and the champs have had a few extra days to get ready and should be just fine this week.

Packers over the Lions. It is too early for R E L A X from Aaron Rodgers but the reigning MVP should make cheese heads feel much better after Green Bay returns to form.

Chiefs over the Ravens. Baltimore is banged up and Kansas City is too good to keep down. Baltimore has played them well in the past, but not this time. Mahomes and the Chiefs go (2-0)

Games that could go either way

Bears over the Bengals. Close game alert here. Chicago will find a way to beat Cincinnati this week.

Rams over the Colts. I wanted to pull the trigger on the Colts this week but I will stick with the Rams. Stafford and company opened up very nicely last Sunday night and look to go (2-0)

Bills over the Dolphins- The Bills are my Super Bowl pick and they didn’t look like that in the second half last week against Pittsburgh. The Steelers kept the offense in check. The Dolphins are good and this is a great matchup. Bills in a close one.

Steelers over the Raiders. Pittsburgh was impressive last week, the Raiders were EVERYTHING on Monday. They were all over the board but did win. Pittsburgh at home and behind that strong defense will be too much for the Raiders.

Saints over Panthers. I think this will be a very close game. The Panthers aren’t a sexy team but they do compete. The Saints looked great last week. Two division teams that know each other well will be close to the end.

Cowboys edge the Chargers. Dallas looked good last Thursday but their health will be a MAJOR issue for this week. I could be off on this one by going with the Cowboys but we are going with it.

Titans over the Seahawks. Got burned by Seattle last week and may get burned again. This week it is less about them but more about Tennessee. I think the Titans are good and they didn’t show it last week. New week, new chance and new opportunity for the Titans to show their stuff.

Someone has to win, unless they tie

Washington over the Giants. This has tie potential written all over it. The pick of Washington here is because of their strength on defense.
