NBC Sports California analyst and former Sacramento Kings forward Kenny Thomas joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Wednesday morning to discuss the Sacramento Kings heading into the All-Star break, who steps up in the backup center spot, and much more.
“I feel like they need another big man at the five spot because I feel like that’s adding a lot of pressure on [Domantas] Sabonis on the defensive end. Especially on the offensive end, it’s to their advantage because Sabonis is out on the perimeter a lot, doing a lot of dribble handoff and different things and pick & rolls,” Kenny Thomas said on the show Wednesday. “I feel like with him playing the four a little bit more, I’m not seeing a lot of minutes. I’m just saying take away him being able to play the five because that right there alone could be detrimental to Sabonis because he’s a big key.”
Topics discussed include:
- Has fatigue set in for the Kings heading into All-Star weekend?
- Why is Chimezie Metu getting backup big minutes over Richaun Holmes?
- Does Kenny relate to Holmes’ lack of playing time recently?
- How do you come into a game with energy when you have been on the bench?
- Why Kenny values Mike Brown as a coach
