After finishing the 2018-19 NBA season with 39 wins, the most for the Sacramento Kings since the 2005-06 season, general manager Vlade Divac has agreed to a four year contract extension, according to the The Athletic’s Sam Amick.

Amick says that Divac has been given full authority to make a decision on the future of head coach Dave Joerger, who is entering the final year of his contract, as well as the rest of the organization’s basketball decisions. There is now no doubt as to who is calling the shots.

Amick also reported, a few hours later, that assistant general manager Brandon Williams, who was involved in an altercation with Joerger earlier this season, will not be returning to the Kings.

Now, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that Divac and Joerger will meet today, and that the Kings are seriously considering looking for a new head coach.
