The day has finally come.
After months of speculation surrounding when San Francisco Giants top prospect Kyle Harrison would take the mound for his MLB debut, the left-handed starting pitcher has arrived in Philadelphia to begin his big league career.
Harrison will join a Giants team that is fresh off a 10-4 defeat at the hands of Bryce Harper and a Phillies lineup that racked up 16 hits on Monday night.
At a time that San Francisco is sliding in the National League Wild Card standings, the Giants need an X-factor for a struggling pitching rotation that has posted a 5.36 ERA over the past five games (1-4 record during that span).
"Ready to help these guys out for whatever they need."

Over his past four starts, Harrison has struck out 17 batters over 11.1 innings while posting a 3.18 ERA and holding opponents to a .191 batting average.
San Francisco could use that type of impact on the mound as they look to stabilize their place in the highly-competitive race for one of three NL Wild Card spots.
Harrison is the Giants’ most-hyped pitching prospect since fellow lefty Madison Bumgarner took the mound for the first time in 2009. Now, it’s time to see what the Bay Area native is made of.
