According to multiple reports, the Los Angeles Clippers and Doc Rivers have agreed to a multi-year contract extension. Rivers had only one year left on his current deal.

Rivers just wrapped up his fifth season at the helm of the Clippers where he has found substantial success. With a 259-151 will/loss record, Rivers has led Los Angeles to the playoffs in all but one season (2017-2018).

Initially, Rivers served both as the head coach and president of basketball operations, allowing him to be in full control of his roster both on and off the court. He stepped away from the front office role to focus completely on head coaching just before this last season.

Rivers is coming off of his worst season, 42-40, since he went 41-40 with the Boston Celtics in 2012-2013. He was fired shortly after that season. Now, with significant pieces like DeAndre Jordan, Avery Bradley, and Lou Williams, along with back-to-back picks in the NBA Draft (12 and 13), the Clippers are hopeful that their time outside the playoffs is very-short lived.
