Matt Barnes on joining the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame

Matt Barnes, NBA analyst for NBC Sports and former Sacramento King, joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” to talk about growing up in Sacramento and joining the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame.

By the end of his playing days at Del Campo High School, Barnes was an All-American, All-State, All-CIF, All-City and All-League player. The Sacramento native is known for his basketball game, he was also a football star. In his senior year, he recorded 58 receptions for 1,112 yards and 28 touchdowns as a receiver.

After four seasons at UCLA, Matt Barnes would go on to play for nine NBA teams over a 14-year career.

More on the Sacramento Sports Hall of Fame

Along with Barnes, former New York Yankee Nick Johnson, NBA center James Donaldson, baseball player Leon Lee, and Olympic athlete Jamie Whitmore will make up the 2024 Hall of Fame class that was voted on by sports fans in the Sacramento area.

The group will all be honored at a ceremony at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort on Sunday, February 4th.
